c. Procedures for availing of Supplier of Last Resort (SOLR) service
In the event that a Retail Electricity Supplier (RES) suddenly ceases operation without having the opportunity to inform its customers and other concerned parties in advance, the following procedures will be followed:
1. Once the Central Registration Body (CRB) discovers that your current RES has ceased operations, it will inform the SOLR and provide it with the necessary information to serve the affected customers.
2. The SOLR will then inform you that a Last Resort Supply Event has occurred, and that the SOLR will serve you if you cannot find a new RES, and if you agree to get supply from the SOLR.
3. The SOLR will provide you with the terms and conditions of the SOLR contract.
4. If you agree with the terms and conditions, you may sign the SOLR contract and pay the corresponding deposit.
5. After signing of SOLR contract and payment of deposit, the SOLR will follow the procedures for switching to transfer you to SOLR service.
6. Once you are being temporarily supplied by the SOLR, you may look for a new RES and switch as soon as possible, or after an agreed time period with the SOLR.
Thirty (30) days before retail competition starts, all contestable customers should already have a contract with a RES. Otherwise, the CRB will automatically provide the SOLR with the information of customers who have not yet made a choice, and these customers will be served by the SOLR at the commencement of retail competition. Steps 3 to 6 above will be followed.
